Telangana intellectuals pen open letter to CM on BRAOU’s land allocation
In an open letter to CM Revanth Reddy, they said the idea of allocating the BRAOU's land to JNAFAU should be abandoned immediately and warned that the government would earn a bad name with such anti-people decisions.

Hyderabad: Opposing the Congress government’s decision to allot 10 acres of the Dr. BR Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) land to Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU), intellectuals, former university vice chancellors, academics, journalists and public representatives from Telangana on Saturday demanded that the government roll back its decision.
In an open letter to Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, they said the idea of allocating the BRAOU’s land to JNAFAU should be abandoned immediately and warned that the government would earn a bad name with such anti-people decisions.
Stating that Revanth Reddy and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi assured to save democracy and work as per BR Ambedkar’s principles, they said that it is unfortunate that the Congress government is allocating BRAOU’s land to other institutions.
It was the government’s responsibility to maintain BRAOU, which has been catering to needs of marginalized sections, they said and asked the government to roll back its decision and cancel the land allocation order.
BRAOU former vice chancellor VS Prasad, UoH retired professor Haragopal, MLC Prof. Kodandaram, OU retired professor K Nageshwar, and TSPSC Chairman Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, senior journalist K Ramchandra Murthy were among 61 signatories.
