Telangana: Man, maternal aunt die by self-immolation in Siddipet
The woman was dead by the time help reached them, while the man succumbed in hospital while undergoing treatment
Siddipet: A man and his maternal aunt allegedly immolated themselves on the outskirts of Timmareddypally in Kondapak mandal on Saturday night.
Since the incident happened very close to the Rajiv Rahadhari, staff of a nearby hotel noticed them and doused the fire. However, the woman had died by the then. The man, who was rushed to the government hospital in Siddipet, breathed his last while undergoing treatment.
The two were identified as Sirodhakar Lakshmi (55) and her elder sister’s son Tinglekhar Sridhar (45). Lakshmi was a resident of Sai Nagar in Siddipet, while Sridhar lived in Adarsh Nagar in Ghatkeshar mandal of Rangareddy district. Sridhar had moved to Siddipet a few months ago and used to stay with his aunt in a rented house.
Later, they moved to Cheriyal. They were suspected to have ended their lives since Sridhar was suffering from some serious health issues.
The police recovered medical reports of Sridhar from the crime spot. A probe is on.
