Adilabad: Undeterred by consecutive failures in UPSC civil services examinations, Sai Chaitanya Jadhav, the son of a head constable from the remote Palsi (B) Thanda in Thalamadugu mandal cracked it by securing the 68th rank in his sixth attempt.
An alumnus of the Jawaharlal Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV)-Kagaznagar, Jadhav graduated in Mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Information Technology-Tiruchirapalli before appearing for the UPSC civils. He failed in four attempts to realise his dream of becoming an IAS officer. He missed his target again by a whisker as he was selected as an IFS officer in his fifth bid.

However, Jadhav hit a bullseye when he appeared for the sixth time in a row.
“It has been my ambition to become an IAS officer. I drew inspiration from IAS and IPS officers who used to visit JNV when I was schooling. I was not discouraged when I could not crack the CSE in five attempts,” Sai Chaitanya said.
An avid reader of both Telugu and English newspapers, the engineering graduate attributed his success to meticulous planning, perseverance and unwavering encouragement from his parents. He stated that he was reading essays and articles published in various vernacular newspapers to get command over current affairs, general knowledge and science subjects.
The ranker disclosed that he would strive hard to transform lives of tribals residing in rural parts once he assumes charges as Collector. While his father Govind is presently working in Dichpally of Nizamabd district, his mother Kavita is a government school teacher. He was congratulated by villagers, and classmates and teachers at JNV-Kagaznagar.
