Sangareddy: Unable to cope with the prolonged delay in receiving his retirement benefits, a retired government school teacher went missing from his residence in Abdullapurmet, Rangareddy district, on July 22.
The missing teacher, Chiliveru Satyanarayana (62), had retired as a headmaster in January this year after 34 years of service in government schools across Nalgonda district. For the past six months, he had been running from one government office to another seeking the release of his retirement dues.
Following his retirement, Satyanarayana built a house at Abdullapurmet by borrowing around Rs 30 lakh from friends and others, believing he would receive Rs 50 lakh in retirement benefits. However, as the delay in payment continued, he grew increasingly anxious and began showing signs of memory loss, according to his family.
His wife Pushpa and son Rajendra, after checking CCTV footage, found that Satyanarayana had left the house on foot on the morning of July 22 without informing anyone. Despite searching at the homes of relatives and friends, the family could not locate him.
A missing case was filed at Abdullapurmet police station the same day, but police have so far been unable to trace him.
In a desperate attempt to find him, the family has pasted missing posters across Telangana, including at bus stations, hospitals, collectorates, and police stations—particularly in Sangareddy district. A reward of Rs 50,000 has been announced for anyone who provides information about his whereabouts.
Speaking to Telangana Today, his son Rajendra appealed to the public to share Satyanarayana’s photo widely on social media to help locate him.
