Telangana setting up National Centre for Additive Manufacturing

Telangana setting up National Centre for Additive Manufacturing

Hyderabad: Telangana along with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology is setting up a National Centre for Additive Manufacturing to promote 3D printing, prototyping and provide access its infrastructure to the industries, said Industries and IT Minister KT Rama Rao.

Speaking at the Man’Exe–2021, organised together with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), he said Telangana will work with CII on cluster development, green and sustainable solutions, and creation of modern career societies. The State will also take up greening of datacentres as part of its efforts to promote net zero emissions concept.


The Minister released a report titled ‘Future of manufacturing in a post-pandemic world,’ brought out by CII and Ernst & Young. This report presents challenges and learnings from the pandemic and will help companies to model their future manufacturing strategy.

He also inaugurated a new portal madeintelangana.linker.store that provides commission-free services to sellers. The platform curates pearls, apparel, home decor, appliances, consulting services and more. It will provide buyers Telangana-originated products in a single place.

Awards

The Telangana Industries department awards were presented to select organisations. Kalyani Rafael Advanced systems, Optimus Drugs, Nava Bharat Ventures, and Shree Malani Foams got the awards for exports. Bharat Biotech, Skyroot Aerospace, Sensa Core Medical Instrumentation and Optimus Drugs won the awards for innovation.

L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad, Roligt Foods, Ctrl S Datacentres and Khetan Corru Case were feted for their best sustainable practices. Nava Bharat Ventures, J K Fenner and Mahindra & Mahindra got awards for CSR activities. Maithri Aquatech, Befach 4x and Hesa Technologies got the awards under the best startup category.

Tata Consultancy Services and 24-7 Intouch (Knoah) were awarded for their special contribution (IT Services) under the large and medium categories respectively. Mishra Dhatu Nigam, MSN Laboratories, Optimus Drugs, Zen Technologies, WiSig Networks and Indian Institute of Technology- Hyderabad got the `Best IP Portfolio’ awards across different categories.
