Telangana State Medical Council books cases against 15 quacks in Hyderabad, Gajwel
The unqualified individuals were practicing medicine and treating patients without an MBBS degree, the council officials said

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Medical Council (TSMC) in the last month registered police cases against 15 unqualified individuals practicing medicine, of which 10 were from Hyderabad and five from Gajwel.
The Medical Council so far this year registered cases against 400 quacks, working as Rural Medical Practitioners (RMP) and Private Medical Practitioners (PMPs) and treating patients without an MBBS degree. Inspections were carried out at clinics being operated by quacks in Miyapur, Jeedimetla and Gajwel and cases registered at the local police stations.
“Quacks take advantage of the vulnerability of poor patients. The council will continue to fight against the practice of quackery,” vice-chairman TSMSC Dr G Srinivas said.
Cases were filed by the council under Miyapur police station limits against P Arvind (Sri Venkateswara Clinic, Hafeezpet,), M Kavitha (Kavita First Aid Centre, Marthanda Nagar), A Ramesh (Sri Sai First Aid Centre, Premnagar), Md Abdul Hameed, Rehamania Clinic, New Hafeezpet, S Kiran Kumar (Kiran Pratham Chikitsa Kendram, HMT Colony).
Cases were filed in Jeedimetla against T Ravindran (Ravindran First Aid Clinic, Chinthal), Bhikshapati Goud (Sharada First Aid Clinic, Ambedkar Nagar), BS Rao (Sri Hari First Aid Clinic, Chinthal), Saini Lakshminarasu (Gayatri first aid clinic, Ambedkar Nagar). Under Dundigal PS limits, the Council registered an FIR against one M Pavan (Sri Vankateswara Clinic, Bahadurpally).
Cases against quacks in Gajwel include Ravi Kumar (Om Venkateswara Clinic, near Hanuman temple, Madina Complex), Thodupunuri Swami (Sai Manikantha Children first-aid clinic), G Jithendar (Sri Sai Clinic, R&R Colony, Vemulaghat), Bharat Raj (Patel Bazar) and A Purushottam (Tarang Clinic, Gouraram police station limits).
