Jagtial: Residents of Venkatapur village in Velgatur mandal staged a unique protest on Friday by planting paddy on the road, highlighting the authorities’ continued neglect in laying a proper road to their village.
They said even a mild drizzle was enough to turn the road into a slushy mess, making it difficult for locals to move around. Despite changes in governments over the years, the road issue had remained unaddressed, they added.
Accusing officials and elected representatives of apathy, the villagers demanded immediate intervention from the State government to lay a proper road and resolve the long-pending problem faced by the residents.
