Telangana’s new education policy will be compass for India, says CM Revanth Reddy
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced that Telangana will draft a new education policy covering schools to universities. Framed as part of the State’s Vision Document-2047, the policy will stress quality, skills, and poverty eradication through education
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday said the State government would draft a new Telangana Education Policy (TEP) that will serve as a “compass” for the nation. The policy will focus on a complete overhaul of the education sector from primary schools to universities.
Chairing a review meeting at the Secretariat on the draft policy, the Chief Minister said education should integrate language, knowledge, skills and sports. He stressed that poverty eradication today depends not on land or fund distribution, but on education as a transformative tool. He wanted the TEP to address the fall in enrolments in government schools despite high spending, by ensuring quality, attention and confidence in public schools.
Revanth Reddy said the new policy would be integrated into the Telangana Vision Document-2047, to be unveiled on December 9 this year. A special education corporation will also be set up to improve infrastructure.
