Hyderabad: Students appearing for the Telangana Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (TG EAPCET) 2026 will not have to wait for long for their scores.
A new initiative will now allow students to access their marks as soon as they submit the test or immediately after completion of the exam, eliminating the long wait that followed the test.
The scores, as per the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) – Hyderabad that has been entrusted with the responsibility of holding the TG EAPCET 2026, will be calculated based on the preliminary key.
This means scores secured will be provisional in nature and may be subjected to change after objections, if any, are accepted by the university on the preliminary key. However, there have been no major changes to the preliminary key in the last two examinations.
The new initiative is aimed at increasing transparency and reducing anxiety among students over their results. “By immediately displaying the score after the examination, we want to create awareness among students on where they stand in the test,” an official source said.
After releasing the final key, the scores thus secured are normalised as the examination is conducted in four to six sessions. “During normalisation, the marks might be altered by plus or minus two based on the question paper difficulty. The normalised marks are then used to calculate the ranks,” the source said.
In addition, this time, the JNTU-Hyderabad has decided to host the rank bands based on the scores and ranks secured by students in the last couple of years. This is to aid students ascertain their ranks based on their preliminary scores.
