Two arrested by Medchal police in CMR College girls hostel case
The police booked KV Dhanalaxmi (64) and Allam Preethi Reddy (42), both hostel wardens at CMR Campus II, for their alleged complicity and failing to inform the police about it
Hyderabad: Two persons were arrested by the Medchal police for alleged voyeurism at CMR College, Kandlakoya village, and sent to judicial custody.
The arrested, Nanda Kishore Kumar (20) and Govind Kumar (20), both natives of Bihar were working at the CMR College. “Kishore and Govind were staying near the girl’s hostel building and regularly peeping into the ladies washroom of the college students. The girls informed about the incident to the wardens who did not serious follow up the matter,” said Medchal Inspector, A Satyanarayana.
The police booked KV Dhanalaxmi (64) and Allam Preethi Reddy (42), both hostel wardens at CMR Campus II, for their alleged complicity and failing to inform the police about it.
Similarly, V Anatha Narayana (52) Principal of CMR College, Madireddy Janga Reddy (56) Director of the CMR College and Chamakura Gopal Reddy, Chairman of the College were also booked.
“Narayana, Janga Reddy and Gopal Reddy tried to hush up the issue to protect the reputation of the college. They had provided accommodation to the male persons near the girl’s hostel which gave Kishore and Govind easy access to the washrooms. The irresponsible behaviour of the college principal, director and chairman abetted the act of Kishore and Govind,” said the official.
The police produced Kishore and Govind before the court and remanded them. The case is under investigation.
Protest started at CMR College last week after girl students alleged some persons had taken their private videos and sharing on social media platforms.
