Hyderabad: Two Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) activists, Sai Kiran and Kalyan Sandeep, were arrested by the Hyderabad Task Force for allegedly putting up flex banners titled “A to Z of Corruption,” accusing Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of leading a government involved in multiple scams. The activists were subsequently handed over to the Marredpally Police Station.
BRS spokesperson Manne Krishank, who visited the BRS activists in police custody at Marredpally Police Station, secured their release on Saturday. Krishank, accompanied by a lawyer, produced the necessary documents for their release after notices were issued under Section 35(3).
“The Congress government is resorting to high-handed tactics to suppress dissent,” Krishank stated, condemning the arrests as an attempt to stifle criticism of the ruling party. He further alleged that the arrests reflected the State government’s insecurity in the face of public discontent.
The hoardings, which surfaced across Telangana recently, list alleged irregularities under the Congress government — ranging from contract scams to questionable land deals and misuse of state agencies.
