Adilabad/Mancherial: Two students studying in government schools died in separate incidents on Thursday.
In the first incident, Rathod Bunny, a Class IX student died while playing Kho-Kho at the Telangana model school in Narnoor mandal headquarters.
Bunny collapsed and lost consciousness while taking part in a sports competition as part of the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations.
Staffers of the school performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on him before shifting him to a primary health centre in Narnoor mandal headquarters.
Doctors declared that he was brought dead. Hailing from Bheempur mandal centre, Bunny was diagnosed with a cardiac-related ailment.
He had undergone a surgery three years ago. He is the youngest son of Rathod Ravinder, a small-time farmer.
Meanwhile, Maragoni Adarsh, a 14-year-old Class X student from a minority residential school, died under suspicious circumstances at an integrated vegetable and meat market in Chennur town on Thursday.
Police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident from the officials of the school. During the investigation, it was found that Adarsh, a native of Beerelli village, had left home telling his parents that he was going to school on Wednesday.
CCTV visuals revealed that he consumed a substance, suspected to be a pesticide, brought by an unidentified person and fell unconscious on the premises of the under-construction market, which was close to the school.
Staffers of the school noticed the body and alerted the police, Jaipur ACP Venkateshwar said. A case of suspicious death was registered and investigations were taken up.
