UFERWAS delegation submits memorandum to police on domestic worker verification
A delegation of RWA representatives led by U-FERWAS and the Confederation of RWAs met the Additional DCP of Secunderabad Zone to raise concerns over safety of women homeowners and senior citizens following incidents involving domestic workers.
Hyderabad: A delegation of Resident Welfare Association (RWA) representatives led by United Federation of RWAs (U-FERWAS) and Confederation of RWA on Wednesday took part in an interaction with Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Secunderabad Zone, J. Narsaiah to discuss recent incidents involving domestic helps and concerns relating to the safety and security of women homeowners and senior citizens.
“During the meeting, the representatives submitted a detailed memorandum containing practical recommendations for strengthening residential safety systems, domestic worker registration, police verification procedures, digital gate management, CCTV usage in common areas, and awareness initiatives for residents and welfare associations,” U-FERWAS said in a press release.
The ACP asked the RWAs and gated community management committees to actively promote awareness regarding police verification of domestic helps, drivers, and other household staff at the time of employment, along with responsible data-sharing practices wherever legally required.
