Hyderabad: Justice K. Lakshman of the Telangana High Court on Thursday granted conditional bail to Yadati Sunil Yadav, accused in the high-profile murder case of Y. S. Vivekananda Reddy.
Sunil Yadav, who has been in custody for nearly three years, was ordered by the court to furnish a personal bond of ₹25,000 along with two sureties. Additional conditions of his bail include the surrender of his passport and mandatory weekly reporting to the Station House Officer (SHO) at the Pulivendula Police Station in Kadapa District every Saturday.
During the proceedings, Advocate T. L. Nayan Kumar represented Yadav, while advocates Anil Tanwar and S. Goutham represented the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the daughter of the deceased, respectively. The court noted the potential lengthy nature of the trial, which has yet to commence, and that approximately 300 witnesses are expected to be examined once it begins.
Justice Lakshman emphasized the accused’s right to a speedy trial, which is guaranteed as a fundamental right under Article 21 of the Constitution of India. He remarked that the extended duration of pre-trial incarceration warranted the granting of bail in this case.
