30–bed Covid ward inaugurated in Bhupalpalli
Satyavathi Rathod said that more than 100 Covid-19 patients were undergoing treatment with oxygen facility at Jakaram, Mulugu and Eturunagaram Covid care centres in the district.

Mulugu: The State government is taking all steps to strengthen the healthcare system and also ensure that none of the poor in the State suffer due to non-availability of medical facilities and die of Covid-19, said Women and Child Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod. She was speaking after inaugurating a 30-bed Covid ward with oxygen facility at Bhupalpalli district headquarters hospital.
The Minister said the Chief Minister was focusing on tackling the Covid pandemic. “As part of this, an oxygen plant has been sanctioned for Bhupalpalli district. The Chief Minister also sanctioned a medical regional sub-centre to make sure there’s no shortage of medicines,” she added.
Zilla Parishad chairperson Jakku Sriharshini, local MLA Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy and officials were present on the occasion.
Later, she visited the Mulugu district headquarters and inspected the Covid facility at the area hospital. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that more than 100 Covid-19 patients were undergoing treatment with oxygen facility at Jakaram, Mulugu and Eturunagaram Covid care centres in the district. She also thanked the Chief Minister for sanctioning a medical college, nursing college, medical regional centre and oxygen plant for the remote Mahabubabad district.
District Collector S Krishna Aditya said that the works of setting up the oxygen plant at the government area hospital in Mulugu would be taken up soon. Meanwhile, the Minister appreciated the members of the Gandhi Medical College Global Alumni Association which include District Immunisation Officer Dr Shyamsunder for donating oxygen concentrators, BiPAP machines, pulse oximeters, and 3,000 N-95 masks worth nearly Rs 20 lakh to the Mulugu district.
