Hyderabad: As Sharwanand-starrer ‘Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu’ is all set to hit the theatres next Friday, an acid test awaits filmmaker Kishore Tirumala at the box office. After scoring success with Ram Pothineni’s ‘Red’ in his last outing, the director has come up with a new theme this time, which he calls ‘an ode to women’.
“Women around us give a lot of importance to men. Their mindset and conservative upbringing portrays a different aura. Their good intentions, duty-bound etiquette — all shape the lives of men around them. They have few dreams, seek small pleasures. And they usually have fewer demands while they raise children and look after their home. I felt that a film should be made as an ode to such women; that’s how this wholesome family entertainer ‘Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu’ took shape,” he says.
A film for women
Kishore says that he doesn’t let his script be influenced by an actor’s previous films. Stressing how the characters in the film are important in their own way, the director says, “Each of the characters has a say in the story. The artistes I have chosen are capable of conveying even slightest of emotions. You will be reminded of the sensibilities of movies like ‘Nuvvu Naku Nachav’. The women at home miss us when we are too occupied with our work. This is a film for such women. The women will relate to the emotions in the drama and feel that this is a film for them. I became a busy technician just four months after my daughter was born. Six years later, I realised that my daughter and I loved each other but we apparently bonded after a long gap.”
The ‘Nenu Sailaja’ director says it has been many years since a female-oriented family entertainer came at the Telugu box office. That way this film is a whiff of a fresh air, he says and continues, “This is the first time that I have infused entertainment to a great extent. Away from slapstick comedy, the story is a sweet one with subtle emotions and comedy,” he adds.
