Hyderabad: Notwithstanding the criticism from various quarters, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy‘s brother A Tirupati Reddy continues to get VIP treatment, which, during his visit to a school in Vikarabad district, included a massive convoy, police escort and a huge deployment of police for security. Though the incident occurred around three days ago, it came to light after a video of the event went viral on social media.
In the viral video, Tirupati Reddy is seen being given VIP treatment at a school in Vikarabad. He is seen arriving with a huge convoy led by a police escort. While the school band welcomed him and took him in a parade to the venue, students along with a huge number of police personnel could be seen standing on both sides of the path to welcome him. Vikarabad District Collector Prateek Jain is also seen in the video, escorting Tirupati Reddy.
Opposition parties have been criticising the VIP treatment including a police escort being provided to Tirupati Reddy and other family members of the Chief Minister, despite them not holding any official positions in the government. Earlier, Tirupati Reddy was in news for moving around with an official convoy and also the Vikarabad collector rushing out of his office to receive him at the district collectorate, which is rare for even MLAs and MPs.
Taking to X, BRS working president KT Rama Rao ridiculed the Revanth Reddy government in Telangana, stating that people voted for one Chief Minister, but got six others for free. He was referring to the VIP treatment being given to the Chief Minister’s brother A Tirupati Reddy who was not even an elected ward member. “People of Telangana are lucky. They voted for one Chief Minister, but got six more for free,” he quipped.
“Heartfelt wishes to Vikarabad Chief Minister Tirupati Reddy,” Rama Rao mocked. As the Congress is claiming that it established a people’s governance, he suggested Revanth Reddy to conduct an IVRS survey, enabling people to choose from the “abundant” Chief Ministers available from the Anumula family.
