Adilabad: BC organisations seek hike in reservations in civic bodies, jobs
The leaders of the BC organisations demanded the commission to remove reservations to economically weak sections and to provide 50 percent reservations to BCs in forthcoming elections to urban and rural civic bodies.

Adilabad: Members of Backward Castes organisations and Employees from the communities regretted that they were meted out severe injustice. They aired their views before members of Backward Castes Commission which conducted a maiden public hearing here on Monday.
The leaders of the BC organisations demanded the commission to remove reservations to economically weak sections and to provide 50 percent reservations to BCs in forthcoming elections to urban and rural civic bodies. They wanted 50 percent of total houses to be allocated to BCs, while seeking 50 percent of the state annual budget to the BCs.
The members of the castes urged the commission to create special economic zones and to extend subsidized loans. They requested it to offer 50 percent of reservations to women from BCs. Employees sought it to take steps to issue non-creamy layer certificates quickly and to ensure promotions on the lines of employees from SC and ST communities.
Chairman of the commission Gopishetti Niranjan, members M Surender, Balalaxmi, Rapolu Jayaprakash assured that they would submit the representations to the government by touring all districts. They stated that they would take socio-economic conditions of the castes into consideration.
Members of Munnurkapu, Padmashali, Vaddera, Mudiraj, Yadava, Gouda and other nomadic communities were among those who submitted representations to the commission.
Collector Rajarshi Shah, Abhilasha Abhinav, Kumar Deepak, Venkatesh Dothre and officials of BC welfare department were present.
