BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus holds 12th convocation
BITS Pilani Hyderabad held its 12th convocation on Sunday, conferring over 1,200 degrees. Top academic honours were awarded, and Prof Ajay Kumar Sood called on graduates to harness interdisciplinary skills and technology for national development

Hyderabad: The BITS Pilani, Hyderabad campus conferred more than 1,200 degrees on students across its undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes during the 12th convocation held here on Sunday. Gold medals for academic distinction were awarded to Tarimala Vignesh Reddy and Siddharth Yayavaram. Arnav Yayavaram received the silver medal and Ayush Bhauwala got the bronze medal.
The Prof Suman Kapur Memorial Best PhD Thesis Award – 2025, in the area of Biological Sciences, was conferred on Mude Hemanjali. The Best Outstanding PhD Thesis Awards were also presented.
Congratulating the graduating students, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, Prof Ajay Kumar Sood, highlighted their responsibility to leverage science and technology for the betterment of society.
Emphasising the growing importance of interdisciplinary thinking, ethical research, and national service, he spoke about the transformative potential of emerging technologies.
While BITS Pilani Chancellor Dr Kumar Mangalam shared his message, Vice Chancellor Prof V Ramgopal Rao and BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus Director Prof Soumyo Mukherjee also spoke.
