Kumram Bheem Asifabad: BRS leader Dr RS Praveen Kumar slammed the government over the staff crunch of and insufficient infrastructure in community health centre in Sirpur (T) town and primary health centres in Sirpur (T) Assembly constituency. He inspected a community health centre in Sirpur (T) town on Friday.
Praveen Kumar said that the community health centre, which has a history of 100 years, was neither staffed with sufficient doctors, nor had relevant infrastructure. He stated that the health centre was not equipped with digital x-ray machines and many other equipment, forcing patients to rely on private hospitals in neighboring Mancherial, and Karimnagar districts and to shell out huge amounts.
The BRS leader advised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and health minister C Damodara Raja Narasimha to lay focus on the medical and health sector of Telangana instead of six guarantees. He asked them to show concern for the lives of the people of the state. He regretted that people of the region were losing lives due to poor medical and health facilities.
The IPS officer turned politician ridiculed local MLA Dr Harish Babu for neglecting the segment’s health sector. He stated that the legislator was a doctor, but not showing interest in improving the medical and health services of the constituency. Instead, Harish was interested in developing his own hospital, Praveen Kumar charged.
He pointed out that the primary health centres in Sirpur (T) segment were under-staffed, causing inconvenience to patients. He demanded the government to take steps to fill up the posts lying vacant in the community and primary health centres, besides boosting infrastructure of the facilities at the earliest.
