Hyderabad: A BRS delegation on Thursday met Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharshan Reddy, demanding an inquiry into the alleged dual voter registration of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and seeking action to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.
The delegation, comprising BRS SIR Coordination Committee members Abhilash Rangineni, Mohd Mujeebuddin and Sumitra Anand, along with party leader Mamatha, submitted a representation placing four key demands before the Election Commission.
The BRS sought a time-stamped forensic audit of voter registrations linked to EPIC number “TES0274035” in Kodangal and Achampet (Kondareddypalli village) constituencies to determine the exact dates of creation, modification and deletion of the entries.
The party also urged the Commission to independently verify the facts through its own official channels instead of relying on any State government communication. The party requested the EC to examine whether Revanth Reddy had disclosed the Kondareddypalli voter registration in his nomination affidavit filed from Kodangal and, if not, whether the matter attracted action under Sections 31 and 125A of the Representation of the People Act.
The BRS sought directions that only the Election Commission and its authorised officials should issue statements on matters falling within its constitutional jurisdiction. The delegation urged the Commission to treat the complaint with seriousness and take steps to uphold the fairness and credibility of elections in Telangana.
