Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday emphasised that the government would fulfil promises made to the farming community. The Cabinet sub-committee on Rythu Bharosa, which met at the Secretariat in the day, discussed the new guidelines to extend the aid for the upcoming Yasangi season.
Bhatti Vikramarka and committee members — Thummala Nageshwar Rao, D Sridhar Babu, and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy — discussed the feedback received from farmers during the Cabinet sub-committee’s State-wide tours, and the information collected by officials.
Bhatti Vikramarka reiterated the government’s commitment in fulfilling its pre-election promise of providing Rythu Bharosa to farmers. The government allocated Rs 72,659 crore to agriculture and allied sectors in the State Budget and within two months, Rs 21,000 crore was deposited into farmers’ bank accounts under the loan waiver scheme.
A newly established Agriculture Commission was working on its task to make agriculture more profitable and enhance farmers’ welfare.
