Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan termed first-quarter report of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) as a “red alert” for Telangana. He warned that the State’s borrowings had already overshot its own revenue in just three months of the current fiscal.
According to Sravan, Telangana’s own tax revenue stood at only 16.2 per cent of the annual target, with non-tax revenue at a mere 3.37 per cent, while borrowings have already ballooned to 37.5 per cent of the annual estimates.
“This is a glaring sign of incompetence, poor governance, and an administrative collapse,” he said, squarely blaming Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his Cabinet for the fiasco.
The BRS leader said instead of focusing on wealth creation, investments, and growth, the Congress government was consumed by vengeful petty politics against former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, pushing the State backwards. He stressed that the CAG findings were not political allegations but an official warning.
“How will this government fix the fiscal deficit and still deliver on its mountain of poll promises?” he asked. He cautioned that Telangana needed economic vision, positive leadership, and tangible results, urging the Revanth Reddy government to focus on these issues before the situation became irreparable.
