Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday asked the party cadres to go door-to-door to explain the achievements of the coalition government in the state.

He held a teleconference with key TDP leaders and public representatives ahead of the 45-day door-to-door campaign, beginning across the state on Monday, focusing on the two-year rule of the alliance government.

The Chief Minister provided guidelines to leaders regarding the achievements of the two-year governance and the key issues to be conveyed to the public.

He said the entire party machinery, including Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and MLCs, must participate in the outreach programme.

The Chief Minister said during the elections, they went door-to-door asking for votes and explaining their promises. He said they must now visit every household to inform people that the coalition is fulfilling the promises it made.

He said any doubts raised by the public must be clarified and explained in a way they can understand.

The CM recalled that the people gave a historic mandate in the 2024 elections. The coalition achieved a strike rate of 94 per cent in seats and secured 57 per cent of the votes.

“The previous government plummeted from 151 seats to 11 due to its grave errors and destructive actions. We secured a strong majority thanks to the struggles waged by the TDP and its alliance partners, as well as the strategies adopted during the elections,” he said.

Chandrababu Naidu claimed that the coalition government was governing in a way that benefits the people and is constantly taking public opinion into account.

The TDP chief said the coalition should win all seats in the upcoming local body elections. “Everyone must strive for the victory of candidates from the TDP and its allies,” he said and urged party functionaries at all levels, including booth conveners, to work with a sense of responsibility.

Stating that work should be done with passion rather than as a burden, he advised the leaders to maintain close ties with the public and party cadres.

“I do not want mere followers. The party needs leaders. One must cultivate the skills to solve problems and enhance leadership qualities,” he said.

Exuding confidence that the coalition will return to power in the next elections, he, however, cautioned cadres that there is no room for complacency. He asked them to avoid actions that the people dislike.

“The coalition government must continue for the sake of the state, and this message needs to be conveyed clearly to everyone,” he said.

The CM also underlined the need to highlight the coalition government’s initiatives for youth welfare while explaining how the ‘Axe party’ (YSRCP) undermined the youth.

“The priority the alliance government accords to the future and aspirations of the youth must be communicated to the public. The ‘Axe party’ acted with the overconfidence that money alone would guarantee victory; however, public affection cannot be won merely through money.”

He told party cadres to expose before people the policies and flawed methods of the ‘Axe party’. He alleged that despite suffering a crushing defeat, YSRCP continues to sow discord in society.
