Cyberabad police detection rate of grave crimes rises to 85% in 2025
Cyberabad Police improved grave crime detection to 85 per cent in 2025, with notable gains in murder, robbery, and theft cases. Courts disposed of 14,369 cases, maintaining a 47 per cent conviction rate, including 22 life sentences.

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police registered a notable improvement in the detection of grave crimes in 2025, with the overall detection rate rising to 85 per cent, compared to 80 per cent in 2024. However, the conviction rate remained steady at 47 per cent for both years.
According to the crime data, in cases of murder and murder for gain, detection improved from 95 per cent in 2024 to 98 per cent in 2025, with 111 cases detected out of 113 true cases. Dacoity and robbery cases also saw better results, with detection increasing from 85 per cent to 88 per cent.
Significant gains were recorded in house-breaking by day, where detection jumped from 58 per cent in 2024 to 82 per cent in 2025.
Meanwhile, detection in automobile thefts rose sharply from 64 per cent to 86 per cent, while ordinary thefts improved from 59 per cent to 72 per cent. However, attention diversion offences saw a decline in detection from 67 per cent to 50 per cent.
Overall, Cyberabad Police detected 304 cases out of 358 grave cases in 2025, reflecting improved investigation and focused enforcement.
Meanwhile, the conviction rate remained steady at 47 per cent for both years. In 2025, courts disposed of 14,369 cases, resulting in 6,745 convictions, including 22 life sentences.
In comparison, 2024 saw 11,916 disposals with 5,675 convictions, including 18 life terms. Police officials attributed the improved detection to strengthened investigations, better use of technology, and focused monitoring of serious offences.
