Dacoits rob devotees of Rs 2.5 lakh at gunpoint in Medak
A group of devotees from Medak were robbed of Rs 2.5 lakh at gunpoint late Tuesday night while resting in a function hall near the Sri Vana Durga Bhavani Temple in Edupayala. Around 10 armed men stormed the premises, with six entering and demanding mobile phones while four stood guard at the gate.

Medak: Unidentified dacoits robbed a group of devotees of Rs 2.5 lakh at gunpoint while they were resting in a function hall after offering prayers at the Sri Vana Durga Bhavani Temple in Edupayala on Tuesday night.
The devotees from Medak town had arrived at the temple on Tuesday evening and hired the shed to spend the night. While most of them were asleep, a few were playing cards when around 10 persons jumped over the gate and threatened them at gunpoint.
Four members of the gang waited at the entrance, while the remaining six demanded that the devotees hand over their mobile phones. Fearing an attack, they complied. When confronted, the dacoits assaulted Dharmakar Raju, a devotee from Medak, before seizing Rs 2.5 lakh from the group. They fled the scene, leaving behind the mobile phones.
The incident shocked the devotees. Police have registered a case and begun an investigation.
