Dasoju Sravan dismisses reports on eco-park as farce; says Revanth Reddy owes apology to UoH

Hyderabad: Appealing to environmentalists, students and people of the State to unite and protect the University of Hyderabad and its 400 acres that hold pristine biodiversity, BRS leader and MLC Dasoju Sravan said on Saturday that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy owed an apology to the UoH for his brazen moves.
Reacting to reports that a 2,000-acre eco-park was being planned in the place, he said it was a farce. Taking to X, he recalled: “Just yesterday, he shamelessly declared there was “no wildlife, no trees” on the 400 acres of Kancha Gachibowli land, a blatant lie to justify his cruel conspiracy of auctioning this biodiversity-rich area to pre-selected crony capitalists. But after fierce protests by the UoH students and environmentalists, and a Supreme Court stay on tree-felling, he has now made a shameless U-turn. Now there is the talk of eco-park…”
“This sudden shift is not about conservation. It’s a calculated move to destroy UoH, one of India’s most prestigious institutions, just because its students dared to resist his criminal agenda. Ironically, he also holds the Education portfolio, which has become a curse for Telangana under his tenure. His dictatorial and faction-driven mindset is evident. The real plan is to uproot UoH, relocate it to ‘Future City’ with a new Rs 1,000-crore campus, and erase its legacy. But if he truly cared, why did he attempt to destroy biodiversity in the first place? He must tender a public apology to UoH for his brazen actions…” he said.
Sravan also said the 400 acres in question were reportedly mortgaged to a bank for Rs 20,000 crore.
“How can the government develop land now that’s legally mortgaged? This eco-park drama is nothing more than a smokescreen to cover up his vindictive intent. UoH isn’t just a university, it’s a symbol of academic excellence, a brainchild of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi,” he asserted.
