Batsman Suryakumar Yadav leaves after his dismissal during the fourth Twenty20 match between India and England, at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Hyderabad: India managed to hold their nerves to clinch the fourth T20 match to take the series into decider against England, on Thursday. However, the third umpire was under scanner for a controversial decision that ended Suryakumar Yadav’s blistering knock.
Surya was given out on 57 as caught at the deep fine leg by David Malan in Sam Curran’s bowling. However, TV replays showed that the ball had touched the ground. But the third umpire went with the on-field umpire’s soft signal out and deemed it as a clean catch, attracting huge criticism online.
Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman slammed the third umpire on twitter. “How can this be out. When you are not sure whether the ball was taken cleanly after watching so many replays using top class technology and still go by the soft signal given by the on-field umpire. I think this rule needs to be revisited and changed. #INDvsENG,” he wrote.

Virender Sehwag too hit out at the decision posting a video where a boy was blindfolded and indicated that the umpire took the decision without looking at it.
