Hyderabad: Former Minister Motkupalli Narsimhulu on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the government led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, claiming it could collapse at any time.
Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday, Narsimhulu referred to the Chief Minister’s recent remark that detractors were “digging trenches” behind his back. He said the statement reflected instability within the government.
The former Minister questioned why no action had been taken against Ministers facing corruption allegations. He alleged that one Minister was widely referred to by the public as a “10 percent Minister” and criticised the Chief Minister for failing to act.
Narsimhulu also asked whether holding on to the Chief Minister’s post was more important than maintaining public trust. He said the government could retain credibility only by acting firmly against corruption.
“Who are the people digging trenches behind your back? How can a government function with so many corruption charges against it?” he asked.
He demanded that anyone facing corruption charges be removed from office, irrespective of caste or community. He further alleged that the Chief Minister had failed to address issues affecting Scheduled Caste communities, especially after SC categorisation.
“We are tired and cannot bear the humiliation,” Narsimhulu said.
