Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Amir quashes rumours of comeback

Hyderabad: Former Pakistan speedster Mohammad Amir, who quit the international cricket alleging that he was being tortured mentally by team management, said there is no question of making a u-turn from his decision to quit cricket.

There were rumours doing the rounds that the pacer would comeback from retirement to represent the country. But the pacer denied the suggestions. “I carefully looked at all my options and assessed the situation before making the decision about retirement. I’m enjoying cricket and spending time with my family and currently have no plans about taking back my retirement,” he said.

However, the team management said Amir was interested in playing franchise cricket and T20 leagues to earn money and not interested in playing for his country. He hit out at the management. “If it was only about my performance, I would have never taken the decision about retirement. But their (team management) statements about me regarding my retirement from Test cricket really hurt me. I have no personal issue with them as they are my elders and legends of the game,” he added.
