Foundation stone for new building at Abdullapurmet PS was laid by P Sabita Indra Reddy, Minister for Education and E Dayakar Rao, Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, in the presence of Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat here on Thursday.
Hyderabad: The foundation stone for the construction of the new building of Abdullapurmet Police Station was laid by P Sabita Indra Reddy, Minister for Education and E Dayakar Rao, Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, in the presence of Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat here on Thursday.
Officials said the police station, which is being sponsored by Ramoji Rao of Ramoji Foundation, will have a built-up area of 9,000 sft and will be completed in a year.
Speaking at the inauguration Sabita Indra Reddy commented the efforts of Rachakonda Police in maintaining law and order in the vast jurisdiction and also made a special mention about the efforts of police during the pandemic and also flood relief operations when the city was recently hit by heavy rains. Dayakar Rao thanked Ramoji Foundation for taking up several welfare programs in the constituency.
Mentioning that the Rachakonda Commissionerate had completed five years, Mahesh Bhagwat said that despite the challenges being faced at the ground level, the entire force of Rachakonda Commissionerate have been working tirelessly as a team round the clock.
“The Rachakonda Police Commissionerate has achieved a conviction rate of nearly 58 per cent in grave cases, which is the highest in the State and the She Teams of Rachakonda have averted nearly 107 child marriages during the last five years,” he stated.
The Commissioner inaugurated 110 surveillance cameras with a total worth of Rs 30 lakh installed at various locations under the Abdullapurmet police limits. “So far, nearly 10,683 community cameras and 1,19,300 Nenu Saitham cameras have been installed in Rachakonda over the period of five years,” he said.
