The petitioners questioned the preliminary notification issued by GHMC on December 9, 2025, contending that the proposed delimitation of wards in the GHMC area was arbitrary, unconstitutional and contrary to the prescribed rules and provisions of law. They urged the Court to set aside the notification and sought appropriate directions against the authorities.

Justice B. Vijay Sen Reddy issued interim directions to the authorities to place ward-wise population details along with authenticated ward-wise maps in the public domain within 24 hours.

The Court further directed that once the said information is made public, the petitioners as well as the general public shall be permitted to submit additional objections, if any, within two days thereafter.

The writ petitions were accordingly posted for further hearing.
