Hyderabad and Medchal-Malkajgiri receive moderate to heavy rainfall on I-day night
After a dry day, Hyderabad witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall on Friday night across several areas, especially in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district. Due to public holiday, the vehicular traffic on roads was light, and waterlogging had minimal impact.

Hyderabad: After a day-long dry spell, skies once again opened up on Friday night, as multiple locations in Hyderabad and surrounding districts witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall.
Based on the rainfall data from Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), downpours ranging from 20 mm to 52 mm were reported from several regions falling under Greater Hyderabad region.
With Friday being a national holiday on the occasion of 79th Independence Day, the city roads were devoid of traffic, although several sections came under sheets of rainwater. Main roads in Hyderabad once again witnessed inundation, although the impact was minimal, as not many people ventured outside.
The intensity of the downpour appeared to be centred around Medchal-Malkajgiri district, with several areas in the district reporting moderate to heavy rainfall. By Friday at 10.30 pm, Jeedimetla recorded 52 mm, Shapurnagar 48.5 mm, Rajiv Gruhakalpa in Kukatpally area 48.3 mm, Qutbullapur-Gajularamaram area 46 mm, Shamshiguda in Kukatpally 43.8 mm, Gayatri Nagar ward office in Qutbullapur 41.3 mm and Kukatpally Basthi Dawakhana area received 38.8 mm of rainfall.
Several other regions in Patancheru, Alwal, Serilingampally, Balanagar, Ramchandrapuram, Kapra, Marredpally and Malkajgiri reported rains.
