Hyderabad Cybercrime cops recover over Rs 2 crore, nab 43 people in December
Hyderabad Cybercrime Police intensified enforcement in December 2025, arresting 43 suspects across India and recovering over Rs. 2 crore of fraud money. Officials flagged large-scale investment and digital arrest frauds linked to multi-State cybercrime networks

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cybercrime officials, through intensified operations, recovered over Rs. 2 crore of fraud money and nabbed 43 persons from across the country who were involved in various cybercrime cases during December 2025.
The Cybercrime police, during the month, received 266 complaints through the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP), leading to the registration of 144 FIRs. The Zonal Cyber Cells received 2,195 complaints, of which 80 cases were converted into FIRs. In these cases, 15 suspects were arrested from different parts of the country and an amount of Rs. 72.36 lakh was refunded to victims.
Simultaneously, special enforcement drives resulted in the arrest of 43 suspects from 15 States in connection with 34 cybercrime cases. The majority of cases included 19 investment frauds and eight digital arrest frauds, apart from social media, business, hacking, customer care fraud and piracy-related offences. The police refunded Rs. 1.33 crore to victims during these special operations.
Officials said the arrested suspects were linked to 119 cybercrime cases across multiple States, with suspicious bank transactions totalling nearly Rs. 73 crore. Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Rajasthan accounted for a significant share of these cases.
Police seized mobile phones, laptops, cheque books, debit cards, PAN cards, QR scanners and rubber stamps used in committing the offences. Several suspects from Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh were arrested in these cases.
The Cybercrime Police requested citizens to remain alert against fake investment schemes, impersonation calls and malicious links, and advised immediate reporting of cyber frauds through the 1930 helpline or the cybercrime.gov.in portal to improve chances of recovery.
