Hyderabad: Places of worship overflow as thousands seek blessings for prosperous 2025
From the early hours of Wednesday, the managements of temples, mosques, churches, and Gurudwaras across Hyderabad began cleaning activities, followed by special rituals and religious events. These gatherings were held to pray for a prosperous year for their communities and for the well-being of all.

Hyderabad: Places of worship for people of all walks of life and religious beliefs in Hyderabad and nearby districts of Medchal-Malkajgiri and Rangareddy were filled to the brim on Wednesday, the first day of the New Year 2025. While many visited to give thanks for a peaceful 2024, there were others who prayed and sought divine blessings for a prosperous year ahead.
From early hours of Wednesday, the managements of temples, mosques, churches and Gurudwaras across Hyderabad began cleaning activities and later held special rituals and religious events, praying for a better year for their members and for the prosperity of all.
Noted temples in Hyderabad, well-known to attract large number of devotees on the first day of the New Year, including Birla Mandir, Chilkur Balaji Temple, TTD Sri Venkateswara Temple, Himayatnagar, Jubilee Hills Peddamma Temple, ISKCON temples at Secunderabad and Hyderabad, Hare Krishna Temple at Banjara Hills, Jagannatha Swamy temple, Sri Kanakadurga Nagalaxmi Temple, Basheerbagh witnessed large number of devotees.
Attired in their best, a large number of families turned up to attend special prayers that were organised at St Anthony’s Shrine, Mettuguda, All Saints Church, Trimulgherry and Holy Trinity Church, Bolarum.
A large number of function halls in the Secunderabad area were booked by new age Christian preachers, who held special prayers on the occasion of the first day of the New Year 2025.
