Hyderabad: Quacks caught treating patients, distributing medicines in Addagutta
Four quacks operating unlicensed clinics and distributing medicines were caught by the Telangana Medical Council in Addagutta and Jawaharnagar. Long-running clinics were found violating medical norms, and cases will be registered under relevant sections of the NMC, TSPMR, and BNS Acts.

Hyderabad: Four individuals without MBBS qualifications were found illegally practicing Allopathy and distributing medicines in Addagutta, Secunderabad, and Jawaharnagar RTC Crossroads. The Telangana State Medical Council (TGMC) conducted surprise inspections on Thursday and exposed the malpractice.
In Addagutta, one individual, Sudhakar, was found operating a first aid centre and storing medicines in unsealed and uncovered plastic boxes without adhering to medical regulations.
At Shwetha Clinic in Addagutta, Chiliveru Balaraj, an unqualified practitioner who had been running the facility for 20 years, was caught treating patients. Another unqualified individual, Salimuddin, was found practicing medicine at Chakravarthy Clinic in the same area.
The TGMC team also identified Devasani Ramulu as a quack operating a clinic and medical shop under the name Sai Venkata Medical Store and Clinic at Jawahar Nagar, RTC Crossroads. He had allegedly been treating patients for the past 25 years.
“Cases will be registered against these individuals under Sections 34 and 54 of the NMC Act, Section 22 of the TSPMR Act, and Sections 318 and 319 of the BNS,” TGMC officials said.
