Hyderabad: Telangana Development Forum (TDF), in association with Jaikisan, conducted an awareness programme on Padmasri awardee Chintala Venkat Reddy (CVR) method for soil enrichment in the farm fields which are under cultivation for over a century at Mudchintalapally on Friday. The objective is to bring awareness among farmers on enriching their farmlands which were unfertile and were yielding less produce.
Padmasri awardee Chintala Venkat Reddy explained his CVR method, which includes removing unfertile soil from top soil and replacing it with the inner soil of earth which is available at 3 to 4 feet in the same agricultural field. While the process costs about Rs 15,000 per acre, it would also improves the crop yield as well as helps reducing the soil temperature which in turn reduces global warming and protects environment.
TDF India General Secretary Matta Rajeshwar Reddy along with natural farmer Prasad Reddy and local farmers, organised the programme. Rajeshwar Reddy said with the help of TDF USA and other chapters of the Forum abroad, the TDF India team would be helping farmers in natural farming, organic farming and bio-diverse farming. All the participant farmers visit Rajeshwar Reddy’s farm for hands-on exposure.
TDF USA president Kavita Challa, Mudchintalapally Agriculture Officer (AO) Krishnaveni, and TDF India president Vatte Raja Reddy, also attended the event.
