IMD Hyderabad issues orange alert as heatwave hits over 20 districts in Telangana
The IMD Hyderabad has issued an orange alert for over 20 Telangana districts from April 10–13 due to expected temperatures of 41–44°C. Vulnerable groups are at risk, and dry weather will persist until April 16. Precautions are advised.

Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad on Thursday issued an orange alert, signifying high heat wave impact, for over 20 districts of Telangana from April 10 to April 13.
The maximum daytime temperatures are expected to hover between 41 degree Celsius and 44 degree Celsius in Yadadri Bhongir, Wanaparthy, Vikarabad, Siddipet, Sangareddy, Rajanna Siricilla, Peddapalle, Nizamabad, Nirmal, Narayanpet, Nagarkurnool, Mancherial, Mahabubnagar, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Khammam, Karimnagar, Jogulamba Gadwal, Jangaon, Jagitial, Hanumakonda, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Adilabad districts.
These districts will experience high temperatures, increased likelihood of heat illness symptoms in people who are either exposed to sun for a prolonged period or doing heavy work, with health concerns for vulnerable people, e.g., infants, the elderly, people with chronic diseases, the forecast said.
The trend of dry weather will continue to prevail in all parts of Telangana till April 16, the IMD-Hyderabad said.
