The Myanmarese military staged the coup amid its rising friction with the ruling NLD government over the results of the November 8 general election.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said there has been a manifold increase in digital payments in the recent past.

Sitharaman, who was giving her 2021-22 Budget Speech, started off by giving a special shout out to what the Indian team under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane managed to achieve Down Under.

"For accessible higher education in Ladakh. I propose to set up a central university in Leh," said Sitharaman while presenting the Budget in the Parliament.

She also announced an outlay for capital expenditure amounting to Rs 1,07,100 crores. Presenting the Union Budget 2021-22, Sitharaman said that the plan of the government is to create a future-ready Railways system by 2030.

The 30-share Sensex was trading 929.54 points or 2.01 per cent higher at 47,215.31; and the broader Nifty surged 260.05 points or 1.91 per cent at 13,894.65.

Unveiling the PSE policy in Budget 2021-22, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said barring four strategic areas, public sector companies in other sectors will be divested.

Presenting the Union Budget for 2021-22, she also said the operation green scheme will cover 22 more perishable commodities while announcing the development of five major fishing hubs.

"To further augment road infrastructure, 8,500 km of road and highway projects will be awarded by March 2022," Sitharaman said in her Budget Speech.

Sitharaman said that the main interventions under the scheme will support over 17,000 rural and 11,000 urban wellness centres.

The course is by Aamozish, an initiative of Rekhta Foundation for learning and education.

The Code will include SEBI Act, Govt Securities Act and Depositories Act. All these Acts will be amended for the Code.

Presenting the Union Budget for 2021-22, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said fuel supplies were kept running without interruption during COVID-19 lockdown.

These projects would be undertaken through public private partnership (PPP) mode, Sitharaman said in her Budget 2021 speech.

"A scheme of mega investment textile parks will be launched in addition to the PLI scheme," Sitharaman said.

In the first paperless Union Budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also said investor charter would be introduced as a right of all financial investors across all financial products.

"National monetisation pipeline for potential brownfield infrastructure assets will be launched," Sitharaman said.
