Nalgonda: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Tuesday castigated opposition leaders for resorting to personal allegations against Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and other TRS leaders in the campaign for MLC elections only because they have no genuine issues to raise.
Speaking at a meeting of graduates here, Jagadish Reddy said the Chief Minister had succeeded in transforming Telangana into a hunger-free state with a series of welfare schemes for poor and distressed people. In addition to this, 24 hours free electricity to agriculture, irrigation facility, Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima schemes had instilled confidence among farmers that agriculture could be a profitable venture, he said.
“Employees are also extending support to TRS since the party is committed to solve their issues. In addition to filling 1.31 lakh job vacancies in government departments, 15 lakh youth got jobs in the private sector that came up in the State because of its industry-friendly policy TS-iPASS,” he said, and exuded confidence that TRS candidate Palla Rajeshwar Reddy will win the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduates MLC election. TRS members should work like soldiers to ensure Rajeshwar Reddy victory in the election, he said.
Stating that people were upset with the opposition parties for their dirty politics in the State, he said that in the absence of any issue, the opposition leaders were resorting to personal allegations against the ruling party candidate.
The Chief Minister, he said, has a vision on development and welfare of the people, and no other leader except Chandrashekhar Rao has such vision in the country.
Rajeshwar Reddy, in his address, said graduates should ponder over the performance of the State government with regard to welfare and development before choosing a candidate in the MLC elections. About one crore acre of land was getting irrigation facility due to the irrigation projects and repairs carried out to canals by the TRS government in the last six and half years.
More than 43 lakh persons were getting Aasara pensions in the state. The state government was also extending investment support to 60 lakh farmers in the state. He has also listed out the welfare schemes- Rythu Bima, Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak and KCR kits. Such welfare schemes were not being implemented in Congress and BJP ruled states in the country, he pointed out.
Referring to the allegation of the TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy that no District Selection Committee (DSC) exam was conducted by the government in the last six and half years, he reminded that DSC exam was meant for recruitment in teachers jobs before 2014. But after formation of Telangana state, TRS government has filled up 8,000 teacher posts through TSPSC and 10,500 teacher posts through gurukula board. After 2014, the salaries of 3.2 lakh employees had increased manifold, he added.
Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav, Nalgonda MLA Kancherla Bhupal Reddy, Nalgonda municipal chairman Mandadi Saidi Reddy and others also attended the meeting.
