Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya students visit MGIT under Vigyan Jyothi program

Hyderabad: In an effort to empower girls in the field of science and technology, 50 students from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JN Vidyalaya), Nagarkurnool, along with students from Mahatma Jyotiba Phule BC Welfare Schools, participated in an educational visit to the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT), Gandipet.
The visit was organized under the VigyanJyothi program, a central government initiative by the Department of Science and Technology aimed at providing exposure to young girls and inspiring them to pursue better careers.
Manjula, the program coordinator for Vigyan Jyothi, said, “the visit offers an invaluable opportunity for intermediate students to explore academic institutions and gain first-hand experience of scientific experiments and innovations.”
The students were provided an opportunity to explore various labs, research facilities, and gain insights into the practical applications of scientific concepts. K. Swathi, a senior Intermediate student, said, “this was my first visit to Hyderabad as part of an educational program, and it was an eye-opening experience.”
Prof. G. Chandra Mohan Reddy, Principal of MGIT, urged the students to take note of the key learnings during the visit and emphasized the importance of choosing a career path that would contribute to their personal growth as well as professional success. He said the visit was part of MGIT’s Social Responsibility program.
