Karimnagar: Karimnagar Mayor Y Sunil Rao assured that the civic body will find a permanent solution to the dumping yard issue through bio-mining process. He said Rs 18 crore was allocated for the purpose and works would start within ten days after completion of the tender process.
The dumping yard would be cleared through a bio-mining process and a park would be developed with attractive plants. Modern machines would be deployed to clear the garbage regularly, he said, speaking after laying the foundation stone for various developmental works taken up at a cost of Rs 50 lakh in 47th division here. He instructed the engineers to complete the works within 20 days.
Sunil Rao said that since the division was an old area, roads and drainages were damaged badly, and hence, the developmental works were taken up. “The water problem in the division was solved recently. We will provide all basic facilities in the division by allocating an additional amount of Rs 2 crore. The works would start after the completion of tender process next year,” he said, adding that slums and other localities were being given priority for provision of basic facilities.
Stating that a 24×7 water supply programme would begin on a pilot basis in the Housing Board Colony, he said besides the Rs 70 crore works, Rs 300 crore worth smart city works are also going on in the town.
