Hyderabad: BRS MLC and Telangana Jagruti president K Kavitha declared that she would continue her fight to exert pressure on the Congress government to ensure the swift implementation of increased reservations for Backward Classes (BCs). She termed the introduction of two separate Bills – one for political reservations and the other for education and employment, as a significant victory for Telangana Jagruti.
Addressing the Telangana Praja Kavulu Kalakarulu Vedika (People’s Poets and Artists’ Forum) in Hyderabad on Monday, Kavitha said Telangana Jagruti had consistently fought for social justice, ensuring that all communities receive fair representation. She warned that a single Bill covering all sectors would have led to grave injustice and reiterated the need for close monitoring of the government’s next steps in executing these laws.
Highlighting the crucial role of artistes in social movements, she urged Telangana’s poets and writers to raise their voices against the Congress government’s anti-people policies. She also called for expanding the BC movement nationwide to ensure their rightful representation.
