Khammam BRS celebrates TGERC’s rejection to electricity tariff hike
As the government failed to deliver its poll promises, the Congress leaders have been misleading the people by making false accusations against the BRS, the MLC Tata Madhusudhan said
BRS leaders performed ‘Palabhishekam’ to former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s portrait in Khammam.
Khammam: BRS party has successfully prevented the State government from imposing a financial burden of Rs 18,500 crore on the domestic consumers by increasing the electricity charges, said the party leaders.
Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, the party district president, MLC Tata Madhusudhan and former MLC S Venkata Veeraiah said the Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission’s (TGERC) has rejected a proposal of two DISCOMs to increase the fixed charge from Rs. 10 to Rs. 50 per kilowatt for the financial year 2024-25 for domestic consumers using power over 300 units due to the efforts made by the BRS.
The BRS party would fight on behalf of the people and pursue the State government to deliver six guarantees as promised by the Congress party. As the government failed to deliver its poll promises, the Congress leaders have been misleading the people by making false accusations against the BRS, the MLC said.
Congress party promised a pension of Rs 4000 to the poor and one tula gold along with Kalyana Lakshmi cheques but could not deliver the promises. Similarly loan waiver was not implemented fully as half of the eligible farmers were yet to get their loans waived.
People were dissatisfied with the Congress government and MLAs were feared to visit villages. In Khammam district there was no coordination among the three ministers as each minister was trying to gain upper hand over the others, Madhusudhan said.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy who claims to erase the history of the BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao should know that Chandrashekhar Rao has a fixed place in the history of Telangana and none could erase it, he noted.
Venkata Veeraiah stated that paddy procurement has not started on full scale as the supply of gunny bags and coordination with mills was not done yet. In case of purchase of fine rice, farmers were being troubled by the government by imposing restrictions.
Indiramma houses should be given to the poor who have already started construction of houses under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme implemented by the previous BRS government, he said.
Earlier, the leaders submitted a memorandum to district Collector Muzammil Khan asking him to provide alternate house sites to 400 beneficiaries to whom pattas were given in survey number 218 of Raghunathapalem village by the previous government. The beneficiaries were likely to lose house sites as a Greenfield Highway was proposed through the village, they said.
