Kothagudem: A retired government employee, Kambhampati Srinivasa Rao, who is undergoing treatment for heart-related ailments, made a heart-rending appeal to the State government to clear his pending retirement benefits.
In a message on social media, he also appealed to employees, JAC leaders, and officials to help him, saying, “I am waiting for retirement benefits as my life is hanging between life and death.” He also attached his photo taken in a hospital ward.
Srinivasa Rao, who worked as a superintendent in Kothagudem Government ITI, said that although he retired on March 31, 2025, he has not yet received the benefits related to GPF, PRC 2020 arrears, 300 days EEL (encashment of earned leave), DA arrears, and EL surrendered in 2024.
Facing serious health issues, he has already suffered two heart strokes. He recently received treatment at a private hospital in Kothagudem, and doctors suggested that he needs to undergo a stent procedure again.
Moreover, he said that he had undergone surgery for an L4-L5 problem related to the vertebrae, and that he had family responsibilities such as his child’s marriage, house construction, and his wife’s knee treatment that need financial support. He said he was facing serious difficulties due to the delay in receiving his retirement dues.
“If I ask someone for a loan saying that I would repay it after getting my retirement money, they refuse to lend, saying no one knows when the amount will be paid. This is the condition of a retired employee in Telangana for which we fought,” he lamented.
Srinivasa Rao urged the government and concerned officials to ensure that his retirement benefits are paid at the earliest.
