Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has accused the Congress government of neglecting landmark health projects initiated by BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. He demanded that the government prioritise the completion of these hospitals on a war footing to make quality healthcare accessible.

Sharing latest visuals of the under-construction hospitals on X, Rama Rao said on the lines of AIIMS, Chandrashekhar Rao had conceptualised four Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) hospitals, each a 1,000-bed super-speciality hospital at different corners of Hyderabad.

“These institutions under construction stand as a testament to KCR’s commitment to the people of Telangana. His legacy cannot be erased,” he asserted.

He said during the BRS rule, government hospitals were modernised, medical colleges were set up in every district, and new hospitals were established in district and mandal headquarters, while Basti Dawakhanas brought healthcare closer to the urban poor. The government also sanctioned a 2,200-bed super-speciality hospital in Warangal and the expansion of NIMS with 2,000 beds.

Blaming the Congress for stalling progress, the BRS working president said if the Congress government had not neglected, all these hospitals would have been available to the people with modern facilities by now.
