Mancherial: As a prelude to Dandari-Gussadi festival, Dandari troupe visited the ancient Padmalpuri Kako temple at Gudirevu village in Dandepalli mandal on Sunday.
While aboriginals celebrate Dandari-Gussadi festival at their native habitations, some Adivasis throng Padmalpuri Kako situated at the picturesque Gudirevu village on the banks of Godavari before celebrating the annual cultural and religious event. Padmalpuri Kako was the seventh daughter of Niranjan Guru, a god who is said to be born out of water.
Priests of Gond and Kolam communities performed traditional rituals. The ethnic tribes presented offerings and some of them sacrificed animals. They took a dip in the river before entering the shrine. The Dandari troupe showcased Gussadi dance form, enthralling devotees. Adivasi women and men danced to the beats of traditional musical instruments. They had community meal at the end of the event.
