Nalgonda: A mimicry artist’s audio clip mimicking the voice of Nomula Narsimhaiah, TRS legislator from Nagarjuna Sagar who died on Tuesday, went horribly wrong after it went viral on Whatsapp groups and the family slamming the person for posting such a clip.
In the audio clip, Kondal, a member of Praja Natya Mandali, mimicking Narsimhaiah’s voice says his funeral rites should be conducted as per the practice of Communist party. With the clip going viral, the late MLA’s son Nomula Bhagath said the voice was not of his father and that it was a fake audio clip. He deplored that some persons intentionally created the fake voice and made it viral in social media.

His father, Bhagat said, joined the TRS from CPI(M) for development of the State for which the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was striving relentlessly. He also brought the issue to the notice of Superintendent of Police A V Ranganath who was in Palem village to inspect the arrangements for Narsimhaiah’s funeral rites.
Even as the police were making efforts to trace the person who created and circulated the audio clip, Kondal, a native of Kodad in Suryapet district, posted a video in social media admitting that he had posted the audio clip in the Whatsapp group of Praja Natya Mandali. He said he was a singer and mimicry artist, and when some members of Praja Natya Mandali asked him to mimick the voice of Narsimhaiah and narrate how the former Communist leader would have felt in his last moments, he recorded the mimicry and posted in the Whatsapp group.
“Unfortunately, some persons posted the clip in other Whatsapp groups also that made it go viral. I request that no one should forward this audio clip in social media platforms. I apologise to Narasimhaiah’s family for the audio clip,” he said.
