Hyderabad: In view of the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic, the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has decided not to impose late fee on students who are applying for various Common Entrance Tests (CETs). Usually, the students will be given a month to 45 days to apply without a late fee for the CETs. After this, a late fee between Rs 250 and Rs 5,000 along with an application fee is charged from the students depending on the due dates for registrations.
For a case in point, as per the notification, the last date to apply without a late fee for Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET), 2021 is May 18. Students can apply with a late fee of Rs 250 and Rs 500 up to May 28 and June 7 respectively. The applications also are accepted with a late fee of Rs 2,500 and Rs 5,000 up to June 17 and 28 respectively. The TS Eamcet is scheduled to be held from July 5 to 9 with AM on July 5 and 6 while the engineering entrance test on July 7, 8 and 9.
“Given the pandemic situation, we do not want further burden on the students and their parents. We will not charge a late fee. The dates for applying without late fees will be extended for the CETs,” a senior TSCHE official said. The TSCHE has already extended the date for online submission of applications for Telangana State Physical Education Common Entrance Test (TS PECET) 2021 without a late fee up to May 15.
