Hyderabad: Dreams of scores of unemployed youth to secure a government job are all set to come true with the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao announcing whopping recruitment to 80,039 vacancies in various departments. This announcement has pumped in new energy among the government job aspirants.
Apart from water and resources, employment was the most important aspect for people to demand a separate State for Telangana. Since the government had already fulfilled water for drinking and agriculture purposes besides sufficient funds for various welfare and developmental programmes, this announcement by the Chief Minister aids in fulfilling the job aspirations of the Telangana people.

Since the formation of the State, the TRS government has notified 1,56,254 vacancies for direct recruitment in different departments, out of which 1,33,942 have been filled up and the remaining 22,312 posts are at different stages. This fresh announcement is in addition to already notified vacancies.
Of the total vacancies up for grabs, 11,626 are under generalist services which are classified into Group I, II, III, and IV. All candidates with a minimum undergraduate degree will be eligible for the Group I, II, and III posts, and intermediate qualification is required for the Group-IV posts.
Going by the vacancies, there are plenty of opportunities for youngsters who wish to enter the police service with 18,334 vacancies in the Home department which is highest compared to other departments. Teacher job aspirants also have enough opportunities in the government-run schools as a total of 13,086 vacancies will be directly recruited in the Secondary Education department. Similarly, there are 7,878 vacancies up for grabs in the higher education department. Likewise, 12,755 vacancies in the Health, Medical, and Family Welfare will go for recruitment.
All vacancies will be filled as per the new Presidential Order which provides 95 percent reservation in favour of candidates in civil posts and posts under local authorities in their district, zone, and multi-zone. This apart, they can also compete for a five per cent open quota in any other district, zone, or multi-zone. This means that candidates local to Telangana can compete for all 100 per cent vacancies in any district, zone, or multi-zone.
Reservation will be provided even in posts like Deputy Collector, CTO & DSP for which there was no reservation in favour of local candidates under the old Presidential Order. Among districts, at 5,268, Hyderabad has the highest number of vacancies which is followed by Nizamabad with 1,976 and Medchal-Malkajgiri with 1,769 vacancies.
Not just announcing the recruitment, the government has also relaxed the upper age limit by 10 years enabling several unemployed persons eligible for the recruitment. With this relaxation, the upper age limit will be 44 years for OC, 49 years for SC, ST, and BC, 54 years for physically challenged, and 47 years for ex-servicemen. However, upper age relaxation is not applicable for uniformed services like police.
